Dwaine played baseball throughout his youth in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN. An outstanding catcher and batter, Dwaine has been coaching at camp since he and his wife, Juli, founded the camp in 1992. Dwaine is also our bus driver, grounds keeper, Friday morning breakfast chef and storyteller extraordinaire. He and Juli have owned Beaver Valley since 1989. They have 4 children: Nathan, Caley, Jamie and Nicholas.

Juli graduated summa cum laude from Worcester State College in Worcester, MA where she studied Psychology and Education concentrating on child and adolescent development. She has worked with youth from preschoolers through young adults. In addition to overseeing all camp operations, Juli handles the “motherly” side of camp: homesickness, mild to moderate injuries and attempts to assist with money management on the outings. (“But why can’t I have this $138 autographed baseball? You can loan me the money—my Mom will pay you back.”) She also tells great stories and terrible jokes.
